Karon Beach

Karon Beach is mesmerizing with its curving powder white sand and pandanus palms. This Phuket destination has a truly unspoilt tropical beach feel with restrictions on commercial buildings to the opposite side of the coast road from the beach. However don’t be fooled by its appearance, Karon Beach is one of the liveliest and action packed beach locations on Phuket, after Patong Beach which is 15 minutes drive north along the coast road.

There is plenty to do and see. With many of the bars and restaurants along the coast road providing music and entertainment. Get your shopping fix at Karon Plaza a retail shopping outlet at the southern end of Karon Beach offering bars, shops, markets and eateries catering to all budgets. Karon Beach caters well to a mixture of travelers as it has accommodation ranging from budget to high end with many resorts offering kids activities, making this a much sought after destination for families. With numerous hotels and resorts lining the inner coast road, Karon Beach is one of the best places in Phuket for an affordable seaview room.

Karon Beach offers one of the longest stretches of beach in Phuket. Due to its expanse the sunbeds that line its shores are more evenly spaced than many other beaches on Phuket allowing you to feel less crowded. The many resorts lining the inner coast road from Kata Beach through to Karon Beach are all within walking distance of the beach whilst other resorts sit in the tropical forest of the Karon Headland allowing direct beach access. There are numerous trendy restaurants and cafes to explore along the little roads linking back to the beach.

At the northern end of Karon Beach is Karon Circle with its many sculptures of workers commemorating the regions tin-mining and agricultural heritage. This area is also known for its many small shops, cafes, tailors, pharmacies and supermarkets. Having suits and professional clothing made in Phuket is extremely affordable in comparison to western countries. There are many tailors available at Karon Beach; it is wise to see a tailor at the beginning of your stay to allow them time to finish your creations. Karon Beach is the ultimate something for everyone destination.
